Deryn
Holland PCC, BA, MEd., PGCE, MCIPD has more than 25 years experience in training
and development across the commercial, public and voluntary sectors. Now a freelance
executive coach,
facilitator and trainer, Deryn's expertise lies in leadership, self and organisation
development, and in training
trainers.
Her
wide-ranging experience includes Head of Training and Development for BBC Production
and Senior Faculty for Custom Solutions at CCL-Europe (The Center for Creative
Leadership). This followed a 6 month sabbatical to CCL, Greensboro, USA as Executive
in Residence, where Deryn joined the world-renowned research team.
As
Head of Training and Development for BBC Production, Deryn initiated the highly
acclaimed Production Assignment Scheme that annually facilitated the movement
of around 100 people across the corporation and outside the BBC.
Her
experience of local
government includes both working within local
government where she led the training team for Buckinghamshire's LEA
and as a member of the management team for adult education. She continues to work
regularly with local authorities, the health service, the Metropolitan Police,
and the voluntary sector in leadership, team development, diversity, customer
care and coaching.
Deryn is internationally
respected for her ideas and innovation in the field of adult learning, and putting
learning into practice. She continues to write, publish and debate on these subjects.
She holds a Masters in Continuing Education, is an NLP practitioner and a member
of the International Coaching
Federation.

Deryn
is a coach, trainer and leadership consultant, holding the Professional Certified
Coach credential of the International Coach Federation. She has held senior leadership
positions in education, the BBC and in the private sector, and worked with the
Center for Creative Leadership, the Metropolitan Police, UNESCO and the British
Council.
She
has a deep interest in international and cross-cultural work and is respected
for her innovation in adult learning and putting learning into practice. Her clients

Deryn
has thirty years’ experience in training and development across the public, private
and voluntary sectors. Now a freelance executive coach and trainer, her expertise
lies in leadership and personal and organisation development. She works nationally
and internationally with individual and corporate clients to enhance their confidence
and competence.
Her
experience as a senior manager in global organisations, local government, education
and the media has given her a thorough understanding of organisation development,
leadership and the challenges facing individuals and teams in a world of rapid
technological and organisational change. She is equally at home with one-to-one
coaching as she is with large scale strategic development. Deryn’s wide-ranging
experience includes Head of Training and Development for BBC Education and later
BBC Production and Senior Faculty for Custom Solutions at CCL-Europe in Brussels
(The Center for Creative Leadership).
This followed a 6 month sabbatical at CCL in North Carolina, where Deryn joined
the world renowned research team. Her career has included leading training and
development for a large Local Authority, research and being a tutor and author
for the Open University, VSO and OXFAM.
A
lively facilitator of learning, Deryn promotes creative ways for putting learning
into practice and is internationally respected for her ideas and innovation in
the field of adult learning, assessment and putting learning into practice. She
continues to write, publish and debate on these subjects and holds a Masters in
Continuing Education, is an NLP practitioner and a member of the International
Coaching Federation.
Deryn’s
talent for working across cultures has led to her appointments as an Associate
Adviser to the British Council and board member on the Council for Education in
the Commonwealth and the Commonwealth Policy Studies Unit. She also chaired the
INGO Education for Development and is Senior Associate with Idea Connection Systems,
specialising in innovation and inclusion.
Deryn
believes that people learn when they are given opportunities to see things from
different perspectives and have opportunities to ‘do different’ themselves.
